The Agricultural Research Council (ARC) offers a unique opportunity for aspiring data analysts and researchers to gain hands-on experience in the field of agricultural science.
The ARC seeks to appoint a highly skilled, experienced and dynamic person to the following position(s) at Natural Resources & Engineering campus (ARC-NRE), Arcadia, Pretoria
Responsibilities
- Soil preparation, storage, and analysis.
- Designing and maintaining soil data systems and databases.
- Using advanced computerised models (programming and statistical understanding) to extract the data needed.
- Mining data from primary and secondary sources, then reorganizing said data in a format that can be easily read by either humans or machines.
- Assist with the operation of laboratory and soil archiving.
Requirements
- Bachelor's (BSc) Degree in Soil Science or Analytical Chemistry
- Applicants should be highly motivated graduates with a strong academic background.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Computer literacy
