Human Capital Internship

The Human Capital intern will do the following:

  • Provide general administrative support to the Human Capital team.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and assist with filing and documentation.
  • Assist in the coordination of employee engagement and wellness initiatives.
  • Provide support in learning and development activities, including training session logistics.
  • Assist in capturing data and compiling HR reports.
  • Participate in ad hoc HR projects and initiatives.

Investment Banking Internship

ABSA’s GenA Investment Banking Internship 2026 offers a 10-month, front-office development journey designed to launch your career in areas such as Resource & Project Finance, Structured Trade & Commodity Finance, Deal Management, or Corporate Finance. As a GenA intern, you’ll join award-winning teams with international experience, gaining hands-on exposure to complex transactions and cross-border deals that shape Africa’s banking landscape.

Who Should Apply

The ideal candidate is an innovative thinker with strong analytical skills, a passion for value creation in the banking sector, and a readiness to tackle challenging financial projects. You should hold a relevant degree, demonstrate a design-thinking mindset, and be eager to collaborate across cultures. No prior investment-banking experience is required—just your drive to learn, adapt, and excel in a fast-paced environment.

GenA Global Markets Graduate Programme

Absa’s GenA Global Markets Graduate Programme 2026 offers an 18-month, rotational journey across the bank’s trading and sales desks, equipping you with the technical expertise and leadership skills needed to excel in African and international markets. As a Global Markets graduate, you’ll gain hands-on experience in fixed income, equities, foreign exchange, counterparty risk trading, structuring, credit, and prime broking—working on live deals that span the continent.

The programme begins with an immersive introduction to Absa’s Global Markets operations, followed by desk rotations that expose you to the full spectrum of market functions. Alongside your trading and sales assignments, you’ll embark on a structured 10-month leadership development curriculum. 

This includes modules on personal branding, design thinking, digital agility, innovation, team effectiveness, and strategic problem-solving—all designed to prepare you for future leadership roles within Absa.

Throughout the 18 months, you’ll receive ongoing mentorship from desk heads and senior leaders, as well as peer coaching from GenA alumni. This support network will help you refine your trading strategies, strengthen your risk-management skills, and cultivate the analytical mindset required in fast-paced market environments. You’ll also contribute to Absa’s “Force for Good” CSI initiatives, applying your market insights to projects that deliver positive social impact.
