Bursary Details

GrandWest has called on Western Cape students studying in the following fields:

  • Entrepreneurship,
  • Human Resources
  • Finance
  • Marketing
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Hospitality
  • Tourism
  • Mechanical Engineering

Candidate Requirements

  • Applicants must be in full time studies
  • Open exclusively to ONLY western Cape residents.
  • Applicants who have matriculated in South Africa.
  • Applications registered with University of Western Cape; Cape Penninsual University of Technology; University of Cape Town and Stellenbosch University.
  • Applicants who are in pursuit of the above-mentioned career paths
  • Applicants who are till in their undergraduates' studies
  • Applicants who fulfil the criteria on the application form.


Conditions of Bursary

  • Students are ONLY awarded bursaries FOR REGISTRATION AND COURSE FEES in their respective field of study.
  • An additional amount of R5 000 will be allocated towards textbooks.
  • Bursaries do not include payment of ACCOMMODATION AND STATIONERY.
  • The awarded bursary applies only to the current year of study and does not cover arrears.
  • Please note that Bursary Confirmation Letters to students will be issued on receipt of course fee statements for the full year/ semester.
  • Full payment will be processed during the first semester on receipt of course fee statements. For semester students, payments will be made twice; the second payment will be paid subject to the students’ progress report.
  • Students are requested to submit semester academic records/ progress report to GrandWest for evaluation. (In cases where students fail 2 or more subjects, he/she must enclose a letter to explain the reason for failing) Failing one subject - warning given Failing more than two subjects - pending evaluation, further funding may be terminated.
  • Students are required to inform GrandWest of any other bursaries/financial assistance received towards their studies. Failure to do so may result in GrandWest withdrawing its bursary.
  • Institutions are to note that students and/or parents/guardians are to be held liable for student accounts. Although GrandWest undertakes to support the students financially, we do not take responsibility/liability for any outstanding amounts. The onus is on students to liaise with us on payments outstanding on GrandWest side.
