ISFAP refers to the Ikusasa Student Financial Aid Programme, which is a public-private partnership that seeks to fund the missing middle students in the higher education sector.

When you fall under the missing middle label, it means that you're considered too rich to qualify for funding from the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) but too poor to afford to pay for your fees yourself.

To qualify for the ISFAP bursary students need to live in a household where the income is between  R350 000 and R600 000 per year and they need to be South African citizens.

If you meet the ISFAP requirements and successfully apply then the ISFAP bursary will provide cover for student expenses such as tuition fees, books, study materials, accommodation, meals and a monthly stipend.

ISFAP does not cover students who have received other bursaries, whether it be in part or full. So if you already have a bursary, ISFAP will not be able to help you.
