The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) will be hosting the second activation of its 'Start Here' Programme at Limpopo Mall in Polokwane today, 25 January 2013 between 13:00 and 16:00.
The 'Start Here' initiative is a comprehensive Career Guidance Programme which is aimed at enabling young people to access reliable and up-to-date information upon which to make informed decisions about their lives and their future. All fourteen NYDA branches across South Africa will be offering free one-on-one career guidancefrom 18-27 February 2013. These activations seek to create awareness around the Start Here Campaign as well as other NYDA products and services.
“It’s been humbling to see the massive difference that the 'Start Her'e Programme and similar NYDA projects targeting matriculants are making in the lives of young people across the country. We’re encouraging young people in Polokwane to enrol for the programmes and be in a position to make informed decisions about their careers. Young people need to understand that as an organisation, we will do all we can to ensure that the youth are afforded an opportunity to access opportunities,” said Steven Ngubeni, NYDA CEO.
The NYDA will continue to communicate details of upcoming programmes including details about the roll-out of the 2013 'Start Here' campaign. Information on these programmes will be published on the NYDA website and other media.
Local celebrity Ashifa Shaba from Capricorn FM will be attending as well as the Branch Manager, Percy Madziwo. The NYDA's Start Here Programme career practitioner will also be sharing some insight about the programme.
