The National Health Laboratory System (NHLS) currently has Medical Technician Internship positions available on a 36-month fixed-term contract. Applications close 6 February 2013.
REF.: CORMED0113/001-01.Limited positions are available in training laboratories for Medical Technicians (Students) in the 2013 student intake. Positions are available in speciﬁed disciplines, in the various regions stated below.
KZN region:North Coast, South Coast, Durban area, Ladysmith, Newcastle, Zululand, Umkhanyakude
Gauteng, Free State, Bloemfontein, Northern Cape, Kimberley.
Northern region:Mpumalanga, Limpopo East, Limpopo WEst, Tshwane Academic, North West.
Western Cape, PE, Transkei, Eastern Cape, East London.
Medical Technicians (Student):
The individuals will undergo training in the performance of laboratory tests and related procedures according to a set curriculum.
Requirements: Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science.
Please note: Should the applicant be successful in completing his/her academic requirements for registration as a Medical Technician with the HPCSA, the employee may be expected to work for the NHLS in the relevant profession as a Medical Technician for 3 years.
Candidates must clearly stipulate their preferred discipline/s and preferred location.
