False Bay College (FBC) hosted their Annual Awards and Diploma Ceremony, on Thursday 26 June 2014, at the Mitchells Plain Campus.

The event was held to give recognition to the Top Achievers and National N Diploma students for all faculties taught at the College.

A total of 95 students received certificates and prizes. Also in attendance were the College Council members, various stakeholders and FBC Staff members.

The College’s Student Representative Council availed themselves to ensure that the event was well manned.

The Guest Speaker, Mr Simon Banda shared 6 life lessons with the group about various qualities and attitudes needed to contribute towards success.

He closed in saying “I want to wish you the determination to succeed; the resilience to strive ahead despite the trials, and the tenacity to hold on to your dreams and to pursue them to success.”

The Principal and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Cassie Kruger handed the CEO Award to Kyla Bruins, an National Certificate Vocational (NC(V) Information Technology Level 4 student for 2013. She also achieved recognition as a Top Achiever in the Western Cape as the only student to attain the minimum average of 80% across the programme.

In addition to these accolades, she received 15 distinctions out of a total of 21 subjects for the three year period it takes to complete the NC(V) Information Technology programme.
