Surveying or Geomatics Bursary Opportunities 2013

The Department of Rural Development and Land Reform is currently offering bursaries to students who are South African citizens to study in one of the following fields:
- BSc in Geomatics/Land Surveying;
- National Diploma in Surveying;
- National Diploma in Cartography; and
- National Diploma/degree in Town and Regional Planning.
The tertiary institutions that offer the qualifications are:
- University of Cape Town (UCT)
- Tshwane University of Technology (TUT)
- University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN)
- Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT)
- Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT)
- Durban University of Technology (DUT)
- University of Johannesburg.
It is the student’s responsibility to seek admission with tertiary institutions and accommodation within University or University of Technology residence.
Applicants will be expected to enter into a contract with the Department.
The bursary is for a full-time programme and will be renewed annually based on academic performance or results.
Minimum requirements:
- Mathematics;
- Physical Science;
- English; and
- All at least C+ (Higher Grade C).
The Bursary covers:
- Tuition;
- registration;
- accommodation;
- meals;
- living allowance and book fees.

- Letter of acceptance from tertiary institution; and
- Matric/Grade 12 results to be forwarded as soon as it is available.
